Default Solo Seat on Police Bike ??

Well I just put the police solo seat back on my bike.
Not sure if I like it or not yet ,I cant get use to being so much higher up.(I am 6'2" 275 lbs)
I have only put about 20 miles on it so far .
I was thinking about getting a lowering kit and drop the back end 2" ,has anyone done this ?
Its a very comfortable seat I hope i end up keeping it.

Twenty miles is a snap judgement. Ride it a month or two .

Default Harleyboyddk...

What solo seat do you have on your bike? It kinda looks like a Sundowner.

I've thought once or twice about what it would be like to ride with springs under the seat. Does sound comfy.

I guess I should have been more detailed.
the seat that I put on was the orig. Police Style air ride seat .
I has the air bladder with air tank.

Lowering the bike won't change the way you sit on the bike. You will still sit higher than on say a stock Flht seat. It seems the air ride gives you more of an upright riding position. I changed mine out to a Fhlr 2 piece using the just solo.

I found riding a Police seat set up very comfy until the bumps appear at which point it all became very queasy and sickly. Tramp on that throttle & you roll backwards. Ride with a backrest & it keeps pulling your shirt out.

Overall, not for me.

jtomhd....You're right it is a Sundowner. Saw one mounted on a police bike at the dealers and had the parts manager look at it. He showed me the Sundowner pic in the p&a book and I said 'Are you sure thats the same?' He had one, pulled it out for me and I was surprised. Never would have picked it from the catalog.

I took off the air ride seat off my bike last summer. I could not get used to the way you sit way up and way forward. At one point, I was looking at fabricating a new bracket that would move the seat back about 2", which would also move it down about an inch, but finally I gave up and changed to a more conventional solo seat.

Really, the Corbin I have now is more comfortable than the original air ride seat on longer rides.

I removed the "cop" seat from my 09 FLHP. Although it was very comfortable, I was not able to put my feet flat on the ground while stopped. Consequently, I was not able to sit on the bike and push it back while parking. I changed to a Mustang solo with backrest and like it, but it is not as comfortable as the original seat.
