Default Cams for 103

Hi all,

I'm getting a 2011 Road King Classic, and to keep the warranty was going to have the SE 255 cams installed. My local dealer thought this was a fine idea. However, I was pricing the work out at another dealer, and they told me they wouldn't recommend the 255s, they would only do the 211s, which according to them would also require a big bore upgrade. Am I getting hosed by one or the other, or is it just more of a personal preference thing? Thanks!

They would only do the 211s? Find another dealer.

SE255s work great in a 96. 211s will work, too, but like a bit more compression. Neither one would require a BB.

Are you buying the 103 power pack with the 2011? Are you talkng about changing out the stock cams in the 103?

Sorry if these are stupid questions. I just bought a 2011 103 and I'm curious about what guys are doing as a cam upgrade.

The Road King classic comes standard with the 103 Powerpak (aka big bore kit) - the second dealer is an idiot.

Well - I have no idea why using SE255 cams versus any other would "keep the warranty" but who knows . . . .

Default Just to Clarify...

Right or wrong? 103" Power Pack on 2011 models have the same smog cam found in a stock 96", no? 103" Power Pack models do not come with SE 255s already installed, right, but CVO 110" do.

The 2011 103" bikes do NOT have SE 255 cams like the Stage II kit.

+1 on all above...the 255's will go the furthest at keeping your warranty intact...
