Shorter Antenna on Electra Glide Classic

Harley makes a shorter antenna that is part of the relocation kit for when you remove the tour pack and ride without it. Check with them and see if they can order you a shorter one. You can also try taking your antenna to Radio Shack and see if they have one that will screw onto your bike.

Hyflyer,
Go to any automotive store, buy any of the screw-antennas. They will work. I tried the short rubber ducks, standard GM/Ford antennas, and checked them for proper impedence. They all tested fine. The best reception came from the standard GM truck type antenna. It outperformed the large Harley whip!!

RE: Shorter Antenna on Electra Glide Classic
I have a short black rubber antenna on my roadglide but I don't know where to get one (came on bike). One thing I did see recently that looked really cool was cut off antenna. My dealer's salesman took his stock antenna and cut them off about six inches from top and then put them back in with the stock set screw. Claims the reception is the same. Looks great. Hope this helps!

A couple of years ago, I bought mine from Freedom Cycle in Reno, Both for Radio and CB. I have not noticed any loss of reception or communication. The pair cost like $80.00 ,simple screw in installation. The best part about it is no more dealing with antenna's and garage door interference Dont know if the # is still current but here is the one I have 530.865.7010

I just replace mine with a generic 12" rubber antenna from Pep Boys. $8.00 and works great. WB also works great. Now I'm thinking I'll experiment with the stock antenna and cut it to 6" as Terry mentioned... I'll let ya know the results when I do it.
