Do i just keep pouring money in the bagger or just by another bike
I'm 28 and started riding when i was 25 and i have never owned anything other than a Harley. I had an 85fxr then i went to my current mistress 01cop glide. I keep pouring money into performance parts because when i get on it, i beat it up. I'm currently riding clean and I'm running respectable numbers so that i don't get pushed around 93hp/96tq. I'm at a crossroads. I can keep my bike like it is and use it for its intended purpose(touring) and go buy a sportbike and just ride the hell out of it to and from work or i can keep pouring money into my current power plant to make it do wheel stands in 3rd gear. I feel like if i put down another 3k in one shot just for performance, I mind as well go buy a used gsxr or r1 and just take my frustrations out on it instead of my glide. What are your thoughts? Have you ever been put in such a crossroads?

I've never understood people who spend tons and tons of money trying to get better performance out of a Harley touring bike. No matter how much you spend, a 10 year old sport bike will blow it out of the water.
Only you know what you want. Nothing wrong with having more than one bike if you can swing it. But enjoy the Harley for what it is. And don't try to put bags, apes and floorboards on a Hayabusa.

dollarbill, I dont ride with or have a lot of friends my age. I ride with my dad, uncles, and their friends. Im finally making enough money to keep up with them but i have a need for speed quite unlike theirs. I dont get me wrong, some of them are running 117" and 124" and thats good hp/tq for harleys but we all know what a sportsbike does the the majority of harleys for 1/3 of the money. In order to go bigger i have to start spending some major coin just to get 15-20 more horses and ill still get hosed next to a bike that cost $4k and i just spent $7k on performance alone. Its starting to not make cents. Big inches is extra bragging rights for the fellas and not for getting out there on the road riding 700-800 miles in a stretch.
