i get the NEED every now and then ..( had a fzr750r once)....if i could swing it i would have a 1198 ducati as well as my bagger but that ain't in the cards so at 55 years young it will have to be just the bagger :-(

I was young and dumb when I was 28 too. So get the sport bike, until you get it out of your system.

I am 29 years old with a bagger. I bought a new Hayabusa when I was 22 or 23 years old. I still have it and never ride it. Any riding over 30 minutes on it is torture and I found that I was always using a backpack for storage. That thing is fast though. I find that with the bagger I have a new found love of traveling. Everyone is different. You might like the sport bike. I lost my love of speed several years ago and just want to arrive alive to my next destination with as much comfort as possible. It seems to me that you have a hole burning in your pocket. When I have that, the best thing is to fight off that need to spend feeling for a few months and see if you still want to burn it on that item. In the mean time you could always travel on the one you have.

A modern 600 will quarter mile in the low 11s. You're not going to need much more on the street, and if you know how to ride the thing, you'll mop the floor with the bigger bikes in the corners.
05Train,
Dont get me wrong Bro ...I don't intent to "misrepresent". I certainly do respect a 600cc sportbike. I agree ...the 6's are a blast to ride. I know that given an experienced rider (like one with 50k miles in the saddle), one can give the "litre bikes" fits through the twisties! I've often done the same, swapping my Busa for my Buddies 05' GSXR600 on rides, and put some of those litre bikes behind me ...LOL! "However" ...the majority of those Dudes on the 6's upgrade to Litre bikes after a season or two, albeit for "false motives". At 6'1" and 225 (on a good day!), the 6's don't quite propel my *** down the road like the bigger bikes do.

By the way ...I've always respected your advice on the Harleys (usually find it to be good advice). And you got about the "baddest pair" (no pun intended) of bikes in the Touring Section (ref. sigpic)! Sweet rides Dude!

Pretty cool huh! Love it! I still got the need for speed in my veins, but I'm loving my Bagger too!

I'm 45 years old and have been riding my Hayabusa exclusively for 8 years straight here in Alaska. Even at 45yo, bent over and tucked in ...I can comfortably stay in the saddle for 2 hours straight. I average about 5000 miles a summer on the Busa. I know that might not seem like a lot to you guys that "live near the sun". But for us guys up in the arctic, 5000 miles a summer is pretty good. Especially for a sportbike rider! The reason I finally left the Busa full time for the Bagger...#1, because I've always wanted a Harley (to be a member of that culture). #2... after 8 years and almost 40k miles... only 1 ticket (130mph in a 65 ...$600!), never going down and living to tell about how much fun it was ...it was time to "throttle back". Love that bike though!

I think i have made my decision. Im going to buy the sportbike, but only after christmas. That will give me time to see if i even want to throw down some coin to pick up the new bike. If i dont buy one ill save the money and at least ill still be happy with not making the rash decision to either end of the spectrum.

Good call Man. One way or another you got a sweet Glide to ride, so you can't loose!
