Don't know where to start but......Wisconsin.
From the Mississippi River to Lake Superior to Lake Michigan and all points in-between. |
Another vote for Tennessee & North Carolina. Great scenery, Friendly to Bikers.

Drunken State!

I can tell you my favorite state NOT to ride in! The one I live in...Maine. With a newly revised muffler law effective July 12th this year, the LEOs in some cities/towns are going hog wild writing tickets for loud exhaust. The way the law is written, it puts the burden on the person receiving the ticket to prove the exhaust was legal at the time the ticket was issued.

North GA, NC along the Blue Ridge Range is my favorite riding area .. Living in FL would say in my experience North FL is the most Biker Friendly, Lots of places to enjoy ..

From the Mississippi River to Lake Superior to Lake Michigan and all points in-between. Lots of back roads...not many mountains. Any road along the Miss. or Wis. Rivers is a good ride. The 'Northwoods' in the fall can be breathtaking!! I like VA, TN & KY also, but home/heart is in Wis!!! |
I like TN. probably because I live here, but Karen & I can ride off in any direction, and within 30 minutes we're in some of the best riding in the country.
Great scenery, great roads and lots of interesting people. It's a helmet state, but I like wearing one, so that's cool too. |

ohio.. but i am a little biased and havnt rode anywhere else.. i could never live in a helmet state..
I COMPLETELY understand, but yet if I lived in a no helmet law state, I'd wear one anyway. |
Florida is nice for year-round riding, but the state is dead flat.
Although the traffic sucks around me, and there's the helmet law and winter things, Maryland and the surrounding states (VA, WV, PA) have some great riding. I was blown away by Arkansas. Stay away from the overhyped Pig Trail and you'll find a ton of empty, awesome roads. The people there were nice as could be, gas was cheap, there's no helmet law, and the variety of roads was stellar. |

And when I read posts like this it makes me wonder why anyone wouldn't want to at least protect there brain! But then I grew up racing Moto-X so a helmet is a "no brainer" (no pun intended) for me :icon_wink: |
