Question PC-V is here and pipes are on their way

OK so the PC-V is here for my Ultra. The V&H DD are on their way and will be here mid week. I have tried several search terms and have not found any info. So I will pose the question to the general assembly.

Has anyone connected a short USB cable to the PC-V and left it in place as a fixed solution so that seat removal is unnecessary?

I can wrench on the bike but as I build the new Maps and try to add additional maps I would like a easy way to connect.

Thanks for the replies.

Default No, but that's a great idea if you can find a matching

USB cable. I believe that be my next little search too.

Know that good feelng. Waiting for delivery of my PCV and head pipe also. I'm sure that cable idea will work. Just try to protect the computer end of it to prevents it from geting all dirty or corroded.

Answer Yes.

I have a tank bra on my 08 Ultra.
I run a USB up from under the seat and the up thru the left side of the tank bra.
When not in use it tucks nicely under the tank bra safe and out of sight.
I tried one out the side but this seems much more convenient.

I have a 2010 RKC.

I opted for for no ABS when I bought the bike. So there is nothing under the right side cover.

I was able to get a clean mount for the PCV and ECM connection under the side plate. A piece of high density foam and a couple of zip ties is all I used.

I ran the USB from the unit, along the bag guard rail and into my saddlebag. To tune, I open the bag, plug it in and go. Sure make it easy when the netbook is in the bag and I can do adjustments while I am on a run. No need to remove the seat or side cover.

I don't plan on running it that way forever, but for the set stage it is super easy.

yes, I left the cable attached and would run it into a leather pouch on my crash bars.
I also found a little plastic cap that goes on the end of a USB thumb drive that I put on the end of the PCV cable for protection against the elements.

I ran a USB cable from the PC-V back, following the wires heading to my Tour-Pak. Bought a stick on cable tie anchor and stuck it behind that flap of a backrest thing underneath the actual backrest and tie it up with a velcro strap

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I am going "Toypuller's" route. I too do not have ABS and that little tray under the right side pannel is perfect. Right now I am not even going to leave the cable in there. Just going to pop the pannel off and connect up.
