anyone talk on the phone while riding?
I have a job that requires me to be on the phone a lot. I'm always answering calls, or speaking on conference calls. Sometimes inconveniently scheduled conference calls will force me to drive my silver taurus, instead of riding my street glide. This really sucks on beautiful days...
Anyway, has anyone found a successful way to talk on the phone while riding? I've been looking at some different bluetooth headsets, and there are a couple of helmet kits out there. Has anyone used them?
Yeah, I know what you're probably all thinking. People talk way too much on the phone anyway. This would really help me ride a lot more though, so I don't mind being "that" guy.
Let me know....

the best place for that absolutely necessary phone, is in your saddlebag. the morons who appear to have a cell phone epoxied to their head while driving annoy the hell out of me. there is nothing important enough where it can't wait till you're stopped for fuel or to pee. any distraction while you're having to concentrate makes it dangerous, you should know that by now. we have to pay attention much more than the cars. they get in a fender bender and it's just that. we get into the same accident on our bike, and it may just be fatal. you decide, better yet, call someone for the answer while you're negotiating rush hour traffic on your bike.

I agree, a couple of beers on two wheels is way more dangerous than communicating on the go...

When I'm wearing my full face on long distance rides, yeah, my phone is bluetoothed to my headset and it's hands free. The caveat here is that if I'm in heavy traffic I won't place or accept any calls until things lighten up or I pull to the side. We each have our own rules and limits that works for us while riding, and this works for me.

I've got a scooter for sale with an auto transmission that might be suited just for you!
Nah, on second thought, I might have to ride one of the roads you travel...
Seriously, if you need to be on the phone that much even in a car is much too dangerous. Not for you, but those other people on the road. Riding a bike should have taught you better by now...
I'm not going to bash you too badly, but I do strongly suggest you rethink your position. And I seriously hope you don't end up in a situation which makes you sorry you ever even thought about asking this question...
