Default How do I wire into Accessory Switch?

I have an '07 Ultra that I would like to wire a GPS into the accessory switch on the fairing. How do you get access to the switch wires? How hard would this be to do?

On my 06, there is a harness, prewired under the seat. There is a switched accessory circuit there. Harley makes a splitter harness that you can drive 2 accessories from that port. It is part number 70264-94A. If you are running only one accessory, your dealer will have the plug ends you need to complete your project. ( This info is correct for the 06's, I would think 07 to be the same.)

Thanks, I have read somewhere that there is a harness or wire under the seat. I will check into it. Thanks for the part#.

It's pretty easy to find ! It is square with 4 ports in it. You can use a test light to find the hot and ground to make it work with your switch.

It would be a waste though to use it for that unless you are certain you wong need it to hook up other electrical items. The normal hookup is simple and straight forward.

Exactly my point. I use two accessories, so I used the splitter. As I mentioned, you would just have the dealer supply you with the single end to put on your GPS wire. I just wanted him to know the splitter was available.

I am planning on using a Garmin 2610, I could plug it into the cigarette lighter but I would rather hook it direct.

Yes, I would hook it direct too. I put the NAV on the right side and use the lighter for the XM on the left side. I have the XM on all the time and just use the NAV for road trips. I use a RAM mount for both and have been very pleased with the results !

I guess my question is how to hook it up directly?
