Default 2010 Mufflers

Has any body tried to put 2010 ultra or road king mufflers on 07 or 08 touring models to see if the sound would be loader then the orginal 07 or 08 mufflers. I was thinking that sence the 2010 models had a cat and putting 2010 mufflers on the 07 model they would be loader. Any feed back on this?
Thanks.Tony G

They may be more "free flowing" as the cats probably create their own back pressure and muffle the sound. So with cat equipped bikes, it may be that the mufflers are slightly less restrictive, and slightly "louder".

A part number comparison will need to be done.

I would bet you are right, Valvestem as the "new" Screamin Eagle Thunder Slip-ons I put on my 09 RK are NOT street Legal on my 09 BUT they are on the 2010 and 2011 bikes. So that's telling me that cat in the pipe IS killing some sound. I know my bike sure sounds A LOT louder with the EXACT same slip-on's as a guy at the dealership who has them on his 2010 Ultra.

It does kill the sound some. I bought a set of Fuelmoto's Dyna Tuned Jackpot mufflers for my 08 UC. when I traded for the 2010 RK, I took the jackpots off and put them on the new RK. They were quieter on the RK due to the Cat in the head pipe. I like it, I was going to order a quiet set of baffles for them on the 08, But now the sound is just what I want.
