The Limited is a bargain considering what you get with it. The 103 is plenty strong for riding 2-up and loaded. My wife and I have put 21,000 miles on ours in less than 10 months.

It's a great bike.

Different strokes for Different folks, I guess.

I'm absolutely pleased with my '09 Ultra Classic, Non-ABS bike with stock 96" engine. Had to go with FuelMoto Power Package such as PCV, SEAC, 2" Rush Mufflers and 2-1-2 Headpipe. It sure woke the engine up as we're pretty much satisfied with the power the engine got.

Ultra Limited isn't my favorite choice due to the Paint Layout and Choices of Colors so I opted for Ultra Classic and add all the chrome/performance goodies I want on my baby.

I plan on riding two up with the wife but probably only a few trips a year, nothing major. I would love to hear your opinion on the two models.

Thanks in advance.......
The difference is not noticeable,so why pay the extra money?? You can do your own upgrades, & come out far better!!!

Really? You've ridden both in the mountains and can make that judgment? Put the same money into a 103 as you'd put into a 96, and you're still ahead.

Default Go with Ultra

I would go with the Ultra, I love my leg fairing and the extra bells and whistles are worth it. The stereo is 80Watts and the intercom and CB are a great asset. Cruse Control is a MUST and after you buy a classic and upgrade a few items, your getting into the Ultra price catagory. Go with Ultra you won't reget it.

I came from a 102 ci Yamaha Roadstar Silverado (1700cc). It has a lot more bottom end than my Ultra Classic. I probably would by the limited with the 103 next time (if there is a next time), but I really like the Ultra Classic and am not disappointed. The wife really likes it too. I ride occasionally 2 up and it has plenty of power for my fat a$$ (270 lbs) and my wife's small lightweight frame (125 lbs). All the adds you mentoined with the heated grips and i think it comes with the hammock seat are nice little extras. BTW, I've kept the Yami and go out and ride it hard every now and then just to remember. :-).

Thanks to everyone for the insight, I appreciate it very much. I'm overseas currently so test riding is not an option. I think I will go with the Limited. I understand what everyone has said about tuning and upgrading the 96 for better power but honesly I'm not that much of a mechanic and I kind of just want to put the key in and take off. Speed is not a serious concern for me I just want it to be responsive enough to stay out of trouble while two up and loaded.

I can't wait to pick it up.

Thanks again and safe riding.......

I had a 2009 with the 96 and now have a 2010 with the 103. Both needed the stage 1 upgrade right away. Either did fine but I do like the small bit of extra juice the 103 brings to the party. I would NOT hesitate being back on the 96 though in fact I wouldn't have sold it if it would have had ABS on it.

I just bought a 2010 Ultra Classic. Yesterday I quickly passed a dump truck on the interstate hauling sand. After passing I looked a the speedo and noticed I was do 95+. I agree that you can never have enough HP, but by no means do I fell the Ultra Classic is lacking power.

My wife and I have no issue with Ultra's power. Our combined weight is about 350ish lbs.

If you have the extra $$$ go for it, but don't feel like you need it.
