My 07 RKC runs great. Has a different sound in 5th but on mine it is not a whine. Just gonna have a different sound because the gears are cut different. Not annoying at all. The bikewill rattle if you lug it in any of the gears. The bike is made to run up to60in 4th. I run in 5th between 60 and 70 and shift to 6th after 70. You're gonna be running in 4th and 5th most of the time. 6th gear is mainly for the open 4 lanes.

Irecently bought a 07 RK (about 1100 miles ago) after owning a 1200 Sporty for yerars, and it's a sweet ride. I haven't encountered any of the problems that people on the forum have complained about. Live on the edge, any problem you come across can always be fixed, it's a machine. And besides I don't think the other years were perfect for everyone.

I have an 07 SG and have had 0 problems since the day I rode it home in 80 degree plus weather.
No heat issues and the only trans noise was 5th gear which was only barely noticeable and only caused by the straight cut 5th gear whichHarley says is there for strength when downshifting when hammering it for passing etc. I know some of the people that say they have problems say
they have been riding for 45 years and that makes them knowledgeable about Harleys. I know
a lot of people that have been driving cars for 45 years and still don't know squat about them.
I have not talkedtoa single rider in person with an07 that doesn't love it. I've had Harleys and worked on mine since the 60'sbut I'm not an expert. My advice is to go to some bike nights, poker runs or rallies and talk in person to some real bikers that own an 07 and hear what they have to say about their bikes. You'll know who the real bikers are after talking with them a few minutes and who to believe. I also own an 03 deuce and you don't know what heat issues are until you've set on top of a softtails hot oil bag in 90+ weather for 600 miles or stop and go traffic in Sturgis when it's over 100. Just remember someone making a negative post may not be posting for your benefit or to protect you but may have a different agenda.

I have had many big twin HD's over years and the 07 FLHRC is without a doubt the finest bike HD has ever offered and I have had ZERO issues with it. I would buy another in a flash without any concerns.

Do they run lean out of the box??? Yes.
Can you fix it with a PCIII, A/C and slip ons??? Yes.
Will you enjoy the crap out of it??? Yes.

My two cents.

I just bought an 07 RK 3 weeks ago with 11 miles on it, currently it has 1000 miles on it and absolutely, without a doubt so far the best bike I have owned. Yeah I hear the rocks, yeah 5th gear makes a racket and so what 1st gear whines but without a doubt the bike is outstanding. Just because it makes noise that you didn't hear in other bikes doesn't mean the nosie is bad - it's just different. I love the bike and would recommend it to anyone willing to pay $20K for a great bike.
