I wouldn't use a Fram filter if I was paid to, on anything I own! Go to Car Quest and have them get you their blue line oil filter, it's made by Wix, and you can get either black or chrome.

We're messing with the life-line of our bikes when we use cheaper products like Fram filters. Especially if your bike is still under warranty. IMHO

I believe the MOCO has several contracters building filters for them to keep up with demand. Again this is information I got from a forum source who worked for Champion Auto Labratories, who claimed that they manufactured large lots of oil filters for HD...But he named another company he also knew of who did likewise. I can't remember the name of that oil filter company...I thought there was an H in it, like something Henderson, or Hendrickson, but I forget. I do know that FRAM was not one of the contractors mentioned.

I just did a google search....It was Hastings premium filters that was mentioned as another supplier. There may be more.

Why is it people pay 20k motorcycles and want to shop at wally world to save a buck or two for what keeps it running, I can see buying good oil wherever but not hard parts that can if not designed right can ruin your motor.

I use the high quality K&N. It is designed for synthetic oil and has a nut on the bottom to get the filter on and off without a filter wrench. They have chrome or black. http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm

HD filters are Purolator. i prefer the AC PF-53 or the WIX equivalent. both are the highest rated inexpensive filters. my TC88 runs quieter with the AC than with the HD filter. AND there are $3.50 a pop.

I was at the local Wal-Mart saw the Fram chrome filter box. I would NEVER use one but figured I would take a look. Some cheap *** took the chrome filter and swapped it with a Wally world filter so they could steal it for $1.97. WHY WOULD ANYBODY PAY 15-35K FOR A BIKE AND 1. NOT GET A GOOD FILTER 2. HAVE TO STEAL A CHEAP FILTER

Read up on the K&P Engineering filter, thats what they use in NASCAR, formula 1, etc. If you care about your engine, get one.
