Is it a PCIII or PCV? Where did you buy it? If from Fuel Moto, give them a call, as they're the experts.

Suggestions that a piggyback system like the PC is faulty because it is "one more thing to go wrong" is basically invalid because (1) the chances for failure are very small and (2) if it does fail you can simply unplug it and re-connect as in the stock configuration. You don't need the O2 sensors since they do very little anyway. Of course if you bypass the PC the tune will not be optimal, but the bike will run and get you home.

Try re-flashing the firmware on the PC. If it is a PCV the newest would be v0.1.4, and while you're at it make sure your software is the current version. If not, upgrade it too.

Don't know where it was bought, 2nd owner on the scoot. It's a PCIII and I can't flash it, because it won't talk to my laptop. Newest software on my laptop sees the PC, but I get no SN, map, or numbers. I disconnected both plugs and inspected the harness for cuts or pinches. Nothing noted. I plugged it backed in and the scoot fire right up, except still no communication or LEDs on the PC.

A HD dealer in town is a tuning center for PCs and I have an appointment. Next week for diagnostic. And of course dealer already pushing replacement and dyno....

Buy a PC-V from F/M, and dump the III.

As could have the regular ECM. No ride home in the latter case.

Dynojet will likely send you a new one free, if you call them. If they can get your old map out of this one, you won't need a dyno tune.

But it didn't...

My point is, the more parts, the more potential problems.

Look on the bright side. If you can't fix you power commander then now is a great time to pick out a new fuel management system and replacement mufflers!

Seriously, sorry about the trouble. Anything electronic can fail. Power Commanders have a great record but they are not infallible. Take it out, make sure the connections are clean and dry, reconnect and see how it runs.
