No idea if you have to pair the type but IMHO I would do that, just the cautious side of me.
I changed from the Dunnies to Metz this summer, very happy with Metz.
My front Dunlop tire had 40,000 km (24,000 M) on it, and the rear had just over 20,000 km (12,000 M) - I changed both at the same time and have since put on about 13,000 km (7,200 M?) - very happy with the Metz - don't feel the road snakes the same, better cornering, just an overall better feel. Would buy the Metz again. JMHO.
