Love my RKC. Have ridden my bro's Heritage several times; feels short fore/aft, and I hate it at 50mph in 5th; feel/sound reminds me of when I was a kid rolling a marble in a plastic bowl....fingernails on chalkboard to my senses.

I would stay with the road king....I never did like the fairing or stereo on a Harley.IMO. I like the Road King Standard because of the hard bags. The Road King still reminds me of the good ole days...but to each his or her own...a Harley is stll a Harley...

Agreed! You can put a detach fairing on a RK if ya want and you can add tunes

Or you can take all that "stuff" off and ride a stripped RK - you can't do that with an SG - you've always got that "permanent" fairing attached

RK for me was a good choice JMO

Well I've taken the Heritage off the list and added the Road Glide. Now I still don't know what I want. I'm going to try to find a RG & SG to test ride this weekend. My cheapest route would be the RK and be done with it but I still like the looks of the Street Glide and the choice of the 103CI motor like i had on my RK Police bike.

I think sticking with the FLH -( whatever one ya get ) is the best decision
The FLH's seem to hold a much better re-sale value as well - especially those SG's

As a side note: I rode a '10 RG demo before buying my '10RK - IMO the RG (with that short windshield) had more buffeting than either the SG I rode or the RK just my .02cents

Yep I agree on the wind shield, I'd have to get a taller one on either bike. I go for a test ride tomorrow on the Street glide and Ultra. Never have been a big fan of the Ulra because of the weight but they don't have a RG to ride so I thought I'd give these 2 a try.
Thanks

i had a softail switched to a electraglide classic, it a lot more comfort and the bells and whistles are nice. the only problem with the steet glide is the travail in the shocks are shorter and the rode glide the fairing is stuck to the frame and doesn't move with the wheel so your head light points straight when you are turning in the parking lots

Buy an Ultra..you can strip it down to what ever model you like.

Actually there are a alot of very nice used garage queen 09's and even some new ones that you should take a look at, which is what I would do if I was in your shoes.

BTW; I am a softail person who switched to an SG.
Love the smoothness of it...
Very responsive..and will kick ***..

I just traded my 08 FatBob in on a 2011 SG with the 103. Had to get rid of that wind deflector for a 8" Windvest recurve windshield. That made a huge difference. My wife only had about a 30 minute *** on the FB, but we can go much longer on the SG. I love the bike. No complaints at all.
