After filling up at the station, i pulled into the street and heard something hit the tank then felt something hit my foot. Looking down i saw the gauge face from my oil temp gauge that i had installed in March. Anyone else have this happen? what might cause it? gauge too tight, too much vibration? only gauge on bike to do this. Took it back to shop today to have replacement PCIII installed and will let them see what they can do.

 

Same thing happened to me on my way to Sturgis.
I ended up just buying a new one even though it was only like 6 months old.
I could have probably just pieced it back together but the ring and glass bounced off my knee and was lost while I was going 80mph down I-90.

Later I actually found the ring sitting behind the transmission...
