Default Anyone have their bike stolen?

Looking at perhaps insuring my newly bought 10 RK for theft, collision.

Big bucks to add this onto the compulsary PL/PD.

Are thefts of HD bikes that common these day?

What's big bucks? I'm paying less than $400/yr for a 12 month, high liability with theft, collision - the works. Thats less than $40/month to insure what is a $25K bike with the acccessories. If you road trip and leave your bike in parking lots overnight, or even at work... then I'd consider it for sure.

I think this is a loaded question.

Me - I have not had a bike stolen, I try not to park it any place I can't see it, I carry a cable lock also, not that will stop them, I believe if they want your bike they are going to get it. BUT as you will find out I'm sure there are folks on here that have had bikes ripped and probably some haven't left them out of their sight very long.

I haven't, but I know people who have. Personally, I wouldn't consider NOT having comprehensive.

It cost me under $300 per year for my '08 street glide. Full coverage including passenger medical. I'll pay that for the piece of mind.

Just called the Govt insurance company (we must use them for PL/PD = personal liability and public damage coverage);

if I don't have a safe driving record I'd pay $4394 /yr for $1 M PL/PD and comprehensive/theft on the 10 RK

since I have a safe driving record (54 yrs old) I would pay 1010 yr for the compulsary govt PL/PD and 1155 yr for theft and comprehensive for a total of 2165/yr

we can get the theft and comprehensive privately and that is about 600 yr so 1610 yr. total........600 isn't too bad assuming u have something left after the 1155 compulsary

thankfully we are snowshoeing for part of the year and that cuts some of the costs.
