A few years back during the Sturgis rally....walked out of a casino in Deadwood and my buddy's Ultra was GONE.
Helmets were laying on the blacktop.
One call to his insurance agent and that day he picked out a rental bike to use during Sturgis.
His insurance picked up all of his lodging and meals for the rest of the rally.
Flew him and his wife back from Rapid City to Minneapolis.
Within a week he picked up a brand new Ultra at our HD.
I have run into (pun) many riders that go without insurance.
They are just plain idiots.

Big bucks to add this onto the compulsary PL/PD.

Are thefts of HD bikes that common these day?
I pay $550/year for everything, 12/months/coverage. I wouldn't want to pay more, but I would, no way I'd want to return to an empty parking space with absolutely no recourse. Didn't have to insure my boat in my state, but I always did that too. Peace of mind is worth a lot!

I know from experience that our Govt insurance company would not be so generous...

..had my truck stolen along with my "Road Star" extra coverage package in the glove compartment....so I called and said I am stuck in this city without my truck...is a rental car covered?...the insurance phone operator said no but keep my bus receipts...

Seriously Im a 30yo kid with an RKCustom. I only pay $600 a year for max everything I could get from progressive through USAA. Ive had my bike stolen (fortunately we chased them down and got it back), Its been wrecked twice (once with me on it). My last mishap cost them $9872 for the repair. I only paid the $500 deductable. Without a doubt pay the extra money for the extra services. They will come in handy!

Under $300 per year for 'full' coverage including medical? What is your deductible? What are your liability amounts? Are they $50,000, $100,000, $300,000? Is it stacked or unstacked coverage? Do you have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage? Saying you have FULL coverage doesn't really provided any information on which to compare policy prices.

We pay less than $500 a year for an 08 fat Bob and an 09 FLHT, full coverage, $500 deductable.

Are you saying that you paid cash for a 2010 Road King and full coverage insurance is "big bucks"?

Someone steals mine and I'm getting a new one. Insurance will pay me more than the dealer will on a trade.

I hope mine isnt stolen, but if it is, Im getting a new bike woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!
