The new LED headlamp

LED Comparison
Lots of requests here for info on the LED headlights .... I have been doing research all over the web the last few months on light upgrades for my 2009 FLHTCU. The VERY BEST non-bias article WITH PHOTOS, is right here.
Travis and Bogie ... GREAT JOB ...and thanks for taking the time to do it .. if you are serious about an LED upgrade it is a must read ... and SEE.

In fact I thought the article was so good that it prompted me to support and join this forum, even though I have been an anonymous reader for several years. IMHO ... HID's are a non starter, due to heat build up, the bulk of the ballast and the additional amperage draw they create for a motorcycle, but the only thing that has the potential to illuminate what we all want to see .... whats lurking out there to ruin our evening ... just see and decide for yourself ... and I did purchase MY upgrade ..... MY choice, and I will be doing a trim ring of some sort to finish it off and get the look I want .... to each their own, spend your coin on your scoot anyway you want, and then get out there and ride it.

Just Installed New HD LED Headlamp
Just installed the new LED headlamp. Thankfully I have HDForums because the instructions included are incomplete and difficult to understand as usual.
Installed in a 2006 FLHPI, the new mounting ring perfectly aligned with the holes in the nacelle; I guess I got lucky as compared with others. The problem came with the OEM retaining ring, as it did not fit over the new light. After a half hour of sweat and swearing, I got it "good enough."
Other than the aggravation with the ring, it was pretty simple and "plug and play." Again, I guess I got lucky compared with some of those posting in this thread.
The difference between the stock light and this one is night and day, quite literally. When it comes to my safety and seeing what I'm about to ride into at night, I think the investment was worth it (plus I got 30% off at the Open House!!!)

I know the HD one doesn't fit in the RG, but do any of the other after market led lights work in the RG? Do any RG owners have an led set up? I tried the HIDs, but without the proper reflector, they really didn't do any more than look cool, not really any better at lighting the road.
You can add L.E.D aux.lights also www.clearwaterlights.com you can check out reviews and other lighting products on www.webbikeworld.com
