Anyone haggle a good price for an ET?...

...thinking of maybe going that route but not sure what the score is/costs/etc.

...from some forum answers I get the impression you can buy one later down the road?...

make that an EW...extended warranty....

 

I tried but they would not budge on the EW. But in the end I got them to throw in a 3 yr/20K miles maintenance plan This was back in Dec of 2008 on a brand new 09 RG.

 

I don't remember the numbers but my dealer agreed to cut the combined price of the 5 year ew and tire and wheel program cost by about 1/3. It's a high profit area for them so there is room to negotiate.

 

I was told by the salesman the dealer only makes $20.00 on EW. I figured if that was correct they wouldn't push it so hard. I didn't bite.

 

Big profit center for them. A buddy and I haggled with a dealer, then found another that offered us each a four year package with tire repair for $1,500.00 each. Went back to the original dealer and he relented.

 

No haggling. Dealer quoted me over 2 grand for the 7 year ESP with tire & wheel. I laughed and called Tri-County HD, got a price of around $1500 and wrote a check.
