Go look at SuperBright LEDs. superbrightleds.com. Plug and play for about $5 per gauge. speedo and tach require a lot more work, but they're worth it!

Hey bro I have asked around and everyone wants me to send then my tact and Speedo for the lights to be replaced. I wanted to know if you did them yourself, if so, did you need and custom tools? I like working on my own bike instead of sending them out...

Thanks

I sent mine out. The LEDs are in an array and aren't easy to swap without blowing them. If you have precision solder tools and can crowbar the cathodes while still applying enough heat to fuse the solder, you can do it yourself. I am mil-spec soldering certified and still I preferred to make someone else accountable for the work. Cost me $125 for the pair, plus shipping both ways.

The LED's you want for the small gauges from superbriteleds.com are WLED-XHP5 (with X being the color)--I don't recall if they offer more than one shade of white; I used red (WLED-RHP5's) in my spun aluminum gauges--great improvement and closely match the brightness of the speedo and tach.

No more difficult than replacing a bulb; however, being LED's they are polarity sensitive, so when you replace a bulb with an LED, test it by turning the ignition "on". If it lights up, it's in right; if not, remove and reverse the plug end.

Default Speedo Tach LEDS

Tincup64,
I do this mod on gauges (speedo and Tach Odom) special equip is required. Static buildup on the components are the major problem along with the heat issue. Pm Me for additional info. I will begin this year doing this mod around the first of November. I am in the process of completing a web link for easier explaination of the process so I do not have to keep explaining the process and options. I am also stocking the LEDS for the SPEEDO/TACH/ODOM for this years Mods. The smaller gauges can be done by you when you remove the fairing to take out the large guages. Purchase the WEDX Cluster LED bulbs from HERE

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...%2FWLED-x5.htm

They are a sponsor of this site help them out if you can.(I have NO connection with them)

Marty.
