Default 2010 Ultra Limited leaking water!!!!!!!

Just bought a 2010 limited and now have 2000 miles on it... Coming home from 9-11 ceremony on Sat I was caught in a savage rainstorm... I rode home through it, no sense looking for a car wash to hide under at 10 pm when I am only 40 miles from home...rained all the way home,,, lots of rain.. I was down to 30MPH at times...

The bike has been dripping water from somewhere under the left side cover.. can not find it.. I removed the bag and cover and for 2 days now, Sun and Mon it drips from left side. Only thing I can find is the plastic belt cover... Anyone have any ideas???????? Or has this happened to anyone???

IS it coming from the swing arm by chance? Back when the 09's came out I was an early buyer. I rode in the rain a lot and kept seeing the same thing on my left side below my bag. Then it turned to rust colored. I pulled the belt guard and over a cup of rusty water came out. Turns out there is a hole left from the welding process up by the tranny and water gets in it. The belt guard was also blocking water from draining out of it. Harley had a tech bulletin to drill a hole in the belt guard so the swingarm wouldn't hold the water anymore. I sprayed frame saver all in there, drilled the hole in the belt guard were the hole is @ the swingarm and never had another problem. There is an old thread on it somewhere in here.

probably from the swing arm. I had the same problem when I took delivery of my 2010 Limited. EVEN though they knew it was a problem on the 2009 some 2010s also have the problem. There'sa TSB on it. Take it back and the dealer will drill a hole in your belt cover so it doesn't block the vent hole in the swing arm.

I bought my 09 Classic last sept 17th and didn't do any riding in the rain until this spring.I mentioned the TSB at the time of purchase and was told it was taken care of.After the first rain ride she dripped for a couple days.
When I took it back to the dealer and mentioned the TSB again, they did it this time.Haven't had a drip since.

Does anyone have a copy of the TSB. My bike has never seen rain, mostly because it never rains here but I want to make sure it is taken care of....

many thanks guys........ Just came back in from the garage and drilling a drain/vent hole in the belt guard cover... As soon as I pulled the cover off it drained at least a cup of rusty color water... let it drip a while,, drilled a hole in the cover, sprayed some WD 40 wonder spray in the hole for grins and giggles.... and put her back together... What a shame on a 25K MC we have to do the MOCO's work for them... Easier to do iit in my garage.. about 20 minutes, than go thru the hassle.... AGAIN THANKS MUCH

Be safe out there and TELL A SOLDIER,,, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try the HORN Mine was full of water a couple months ago. Reason I know is that it stopped working, didn't notice until a couple weeks after riding in a downpour. I pulled it off to check it out, out come the mud and water. Had to have been full Works fine now.
