Default Can't decide - Road King or RK Classic

I have a Softail Deluxe that I love to ride, but the wife hates riding on it (I know, not so bad). I want to get a more comfortable bike that we can go on longer runs on. I don't think I want a full fairing as I'll still use the bike for short runs so I am down to the two RK's.

I really like the Classic, and for 2011 it has the 103. But I know the bags are smaller, how much does that matter? Also the non-leather bags on the regular RK may hold up better in SW FL due to the weather.

Any ideas?

You will get all the guys with Classic saying how they are best and vice versa.

We are partial to the Classics but to be subjective as possible.........the leather bags hold plenty, even flex or bend a bit for stuffing the cooler (lots of water needed in AZ summer rides) or if cramming a half helmet in for CA/NV journey. They look great and will weather well as long as they are conditioned once or twice a year.

Do you really like chrome spoke (Classic) or prefer to have tubeless? Is cruise and the 103 included a big sway or so/so?

On my wife's 07 white/blue Classic I plan to add hard bags and two-tone paint to match because I think it will really "pop" on that bike along with the chrome spoke wheels. On my black 08 I really like the leather bags and have no desire to change them out. So color of bike you chose might make a difference also? Good Luck!

Classic. Liked the look better. Never had an issue with the bags. Good luck.

RK unless you like the funky bags that will deform . Classis if you want the cruise control.. Were it me I would opt for the UC but I planning on the UC as my next bike.

It all depends on the look you like.
I dont like wide whitewalls and spokes and tubes, so I went with the RK.

Go with the Classic! The leather bags are fine! I love the look and they've held up well on my 02. With the new 103, cruise (when you get this feature...you'll never want to be without it). In my opinion...the RK Classic is THE best looking and best all around Harley with it's simple option of removing the windshield and passenger backrest and wahla...you've got a nice street cruiser. The matching tourpack is also available if wanted.

I just ordered a RK Hard Bags and had the 103 Stage 2, cruise etc and other goodies put on it...I kinda made it into what I want rather than just takin what Harley gives you and you still then have to add on to make it like you want....Difference is I am doing it up front at the start...so it has everything on it that I want ....don't have to worry about addons much now....and also welcome to you to the HDF...good luck....bigal v

I have to say that my gf has a RKC and it is the smoothest riding bike I have ever ridden, and I had a Ultra a one time. The bags are fine, and have plenty of room. Cruise control is wonderful to have and the 103ci is an added bonus. I like the classic look.
