I had an 06 RK Classic before I traded on an Ultra. It was a great bike and I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Default Been Down The Same Road.

I was going with the Road King/Road King Classic. A friend begged me to try an Electra Glide. Tour Pack,Radio etc. I was like no way,it's an old mans bike. I rode one a day,and forgot all about the Road King.
I got the tour pack detach kit and Bad Lander Seatfor local cruising.

Love my RKC, but I would change the wheels to go with tubless if I could swing it. The cruise is AWESOME! Think about what will be involved in changing your handlebars. They have the angle that I like, but I have to lean a bit forward so it is going to be Heritage bars or risers and maybe also the Heritage bars. Welcome to the forum!

It's personal taste or flip a coin.

I've seen lots of bags on the Heritage Softail that deformed over time...never seen one on an RKC.

Well I prefer the RK standard. Not big on pony express bags or wide whitewalls. Or spokes. Looks like a PT Cruiser [Al Capone's Neon]

Go with the Classic. Power pack and custom look outweigh your other concerns.

Hard bags are the way to go, get the regular road king. you can add cruise control if you want it, i love it.

That's exactly what I did. I preferred the Standard RK because it had the hard bags and it did not have the spoke wheels and wide white walls. I added the cruise after I bought the bike.

Just my thought.

Whatever you get, I'm sure you'll be happy!
