"Reach" Brake pedal lever and shifter linkage

RE: "Reach" Brake pedal lever and shifter linkage
This is an old thread, but last week I mounted my EZ Brake brake lever on my RG. That is one of the best modifications I have done to the bike!!!!!!! It's so nice to just lift up the front of my foot and apply down to the brake. No more lifting foot up/back/over and forward to use the brake. Dang!!!!!!

The shifter and linkage for it looks nice, but WOW.....pricey. Also, how much of a pain is it to change out the shifter linkage? Almost looks like the primary would have to come off to change the linkage.

Quality has it's price... I've had my brake, shifter, and linkage on three different bikes over the last 5 or 6 years....
btw - have you priced the cheezy HD billet shifters & linkage????

Phil, you already turned me on to the shifter linkage and installed that 2 months ago One bolt out, remove the old shifter and in with the new. Bam, done! Worked so well I had to get the EZ Brake this time around.

"Well do not ask me how I know this but the factory rear brake pedal on the touring bikes IS the extended reach pedal"
I found this out the hard way, when I ordered the extended billet brake arm form Zanottis. I went to put it on, and it was the same as my factory arm. After emailing them saying they must have mislabeled the box, they sent this reply
:
We have one in stock and I took it out of the box and compared it to one of our late model dressers. It is the same length as the stock one. I checked with one of our mechanics and he said that in 03 - 04 H-D went to a longer brake lever. What year of bike are you putting it on? If it is prior to 03, it will extend the brake lever but not on a later model.....I had already installed the matching HD billet shift arms so I can't return them), and wanted to match these with and HD extended brake, but guess I can't do it. So, either I return it to them, and hope the easy brake will match the HD billet stuff, or just put it on, and live with it.The problem lies in HD's description of the part, if they had described it properly, I never would have ordered it!Damn HD!peaceRags
