Default Beach bars vs standard for Road King

Hey Guys,

Looking to update my bars and get a more relaxed rising position. Have an 09 RKC with stock bars. I know there have been several thousand posts on this topic - however I have a more specific question. Based on what I've read the beach bars are a great way to go and would be good for me (5'10"). My question has to do with handling - what are the major differences between the stock handlebars and the beach bars? Are the beach bars easier to handle or a bit more difficult. Any feedback is appreciated. I live in AZ and we have a lot of mountain roads with switchbacks / very tight turns - want to make sure the bars I get are easy to maneuver.

Thanks!

I had the large diameter beach bars on my '07 King and I liked them a lot. I thought it was easier to handle than with stock bars, but that's just me.

I've got the beach bars on my RKC. They are very comfortable during normal riding. The only issue I have is during very tight, parking lot type manuevers under 5 mph. I'm thinking of going with Apes

I just had the bars off of an 04 Heritage installed (not in sig pic). Much more comfortable than the stock bars. Didn't have to change any cables.
