RE: Is anybody happy with thier 07 Ultra
Very happy with my 07 Ultra Classic. Some things I noticed that really dont bother me or I have fixed. This is comparing to my 01 Road King Classic.
1) Takes a half second or so longer to start. Seems like motor kickback. (Stroker Im Thinking)
2) Fifth is a bit louder nothing I would worry about. I dont let it drop below 2200 in fifth (52mph ish). Lugging the motor is a quick way to break things. Really like 6th on the freeway. Motor and gear ratios are different so my gear to speed adjustment is a bit different.
3) Excessive Engine Heat. The headers turned colors the first ride and baked the thighs. Seemed to be running very lean.
- Harley Tax Paid (A/C, SERT, SE Slip Ons)
- Runs stronger cooler and the pipes makes the fifth gear hum disappear. (go figure) 1 maybe 2 bars more needed on the radio.
Over all I would say its several times better ride and comfort over my Road King. I can ride this baby all day. I wouldnt worry too much. Pay the extra and get the extended warranty. It makes for good insurance.

RE: Is anybody happy with thier 07 Ultra
I am very satisfied with my 07 classic. The thursday before labor day weekend I left baton rouge, LA and drove to Gatlinburg, TN. Awesome ride. I had only had the bike 2 weeks prior to the ride (been riding for years, jsut so everyoen will know I an not new to this) The bike is alot quieter they I would like but all in all it is great. %th gear does have a whine and clatter if you cruise to slow. When I got to TN. I had my 1000 mile shop visit and everythign was fine. I would not let a little whine stop me from getting an 07 and besides it is covered under warranty for two years!

I really like my ultra, I do not have a lot of miles on her yet (been out of town) but the mile that I have put on have been very nice. The bike is hot, I have not owned another Harley to compare but the guys I ride with say that theirs are hot too.
I am interested in the se slip ons and if that really made the bike cooler.

I have an 07 Ultra and love it! Went from an 05 Ultra. You have to ride the 6 speed a little different than the 5 speed. 2000 miles and the trans is getting a little quieter. The 96 inch is awesome! When my dealer done the 1000 mile service they found a tooth in my primary oil but didn't have the gasket so they haven't opened it up yet.....warranty will cover whatever it is. I'm gonna do a stage II 103 Kit on my bike.....sometime in November hopefully. Just my 2 cents...Tim

RE: Is anybody happy with thier 07 Ultra
Bought an '07 Ultra in Cheyenne, WY and rode it to Oklahoma, through Colorado, NM and Texas. Does it run hotter? I don't know. I had a Heritage with a hot oil tank. I put a set of "No More Fried Thighs" on that work really well. Is it more powerful than the 88B? I think so, has more noticible torque, especially in 3rd and 4th. Does it sound like rocks in a can? Only when I shift into 6th too soon, or roll the throttle in 6th below 65. It does ping, but I think it may be set up really lean. Does it make noise in 5th? Who knows, I'm listening to Merle. Overall, I really like the new engine and transmission. However, I'm comparing it to an '05 Heritage Classic. So much easier to ride, sets better, quicker, and wants to run. I really have to watch the speed. I'll never have another motorcycle without a cruise control and radio However, the exhaust really stinks when downshifting. This may also be a "lean" situation. So my recommendation is go ahead and buy the damn thing and ride hell out of it. If it breaks, get it fixed or get another one.

07 SEUC, 700+ miles as of this evening
By all means buy it.
It seems that there really are people who are having issues with their new 07s. But there are also people who are not having issues with their new rides... so far the only complaint I can muster is that if it weren't for a little vibration now and then I'd hardly know the motor was running (stock exhaust is way too quiet - especially when the radio is cranked up). Runs a little hot - think that is current engine management profile, when new pipes, intake, and SERT are installed I'm sure the "lean" will go away and it'll run a lot cooler.
It's hard to imagine somebody actually disappointed with the 6spd whether it's attached to a 96, 103, or a 110 cu inch motor. Plenty of room to run. Last couple of days of riding have convinced me to stay out of 6th unless I'm already doing 70+ and don't need to roll on the throttle anymore. I'm starting a "speeding fine" jar cuz I know it's only a matter of time. I don't typically run fast but going from 1-2-3 and keeping RPMs between 2200-2500 puts me at 50mph in less than 5 seconds. Johnny Law is going to love me.
