Default Going from a 2008 to a 2010 or 2011..

Who has made the swap from the old frame to the 2009+.. What were your thoughts? Was it worth the extra money?

Thanks....

The "in the knows" have said the frame was the biggest improvement next to the 6 speed.
I went from a '07 to the '09 and I thought the difference was big time.
You have a sweet ride so making the change may be all about "the money".

Traded up from an '08 EGC with 26kmi. in April.Almost 14k mi. on the Limited now.Improved over all handling with a little stiffer ride, notice the bumps a little more but still very comfortable. With the 103 and Fat Cat,low end torque has increased big time.I've been very pleased.Ordering cams here pretty soon.

I switched from a 2008 Road Glide to a 2010 ultra limited. I was one of the guys that test road the new frame and didn't feel there was that much of diffrence between the 2 bikes. Since I traded I agree the new frame handles better. Problem is the ride is alot stiffer. The shocks on the limited Sux. No matter how much air is put into the shocks
It rides much rougher, You feel every bump. Tried 50# 2up and the ride is better but nothing like my 08 was. The 08 glided over the bumps. The 2010 rides like a lumber wagon-very Rough ride. Hope I can do something to make it ride like a glide should. My 2008 rode like a caddilac, The 2010 rides like an old chevy.
Its a nice bike just a rough ride. I'm only a 190# guy .Just my .02 HMT

I went from a 2008 Road King to a 2010 Ultra Limited after totaling my RK. It is a completely different bike! I can't believe how much better it handles!

I went from a 2008 Road Glide to a 2010 Ultra. I put a bagger brace on the roadie before I even had 400 miles on it because I remembered my old 1984 FLHTC. So, I can't say much about the frame. I will say that the bike tracks straighter than the roadie and it seems peppier. My GF likes the intercom and the radio and I am enjoying wearing the helmet. My bald head stays quite a bit less burned.

All in all I think the money was well spent. HD did a little work on these. The fit and finish is better and the motor seems better. The transmission is geared different. I haven't really checked the ratios, but the seat of the pants says fourth, fifth, and sixth are a little closer. I think the final drive ratio is slightly lower. Maybe the rear tire made some difference. I am a pretty happy owner. Ken

I got paid to ride a new RK every year since the twin cams came out thr 2008 and every year I would wonder if this was going to be the year that I was going to have to trade my 04 EG in. I test drove a 2011 and traded the 2004 in. up thru 08 I never felt enough difference to want to trade.
