Once you purchase a new battery from the dealer or anywhere else, you should always put a slow charge on it. New batteries generally are not fully charge.
If you use a Battery Tender, I would recommend you plug it in at least over night after having a new battery put in service.

I have put the pigtail on my battery and the plug sticks out from under my seat - after parking the bike - it gets plugged in.
The battery tender will extend your battery life .

Yes, you can buy these here for $107 including shipping, which is supposedly the identical battery except for the case color and lack of HD logo.
