there are too many differences to list between ultra and street glide even with lowers. not a good comparison. seat, suspension, floorboards, gauges backface to mention just a few.
I like the look and functionality of the lowers. I like them so much that I just bought a set for my RK. Unfortunately, they don't fit correctly with my SG turn signals. Does anyone know if there is any down side to trimming the lowers to make them fit with the SG signals? Is there another set that I should have bought? I bought a set of non-vented lowers. I don't want to hack away and make them worthless if removing the parts that interfere with steering would have a bad outcome. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread, but it seems that a lot of you have the lowers on your SG's and I need to make a decision. PM is preferred so as to not interfere with the original post.
To me they loOK ok, but not good enough to purchase a set myself. I like the sleek look of the SG. I think if I ever decide to get a nice stereo system, I may get a set of lowers just to add the speakers.
I agree with Primo. To me, the SG is all about sleek and stripped. No tour packs, luggage racks, lower fairings or 12" windshields for me. Hell, I even took off the highway bars because I like the bike with even less "crap" on it.
They came with the bike on my '06 SG. I didn't put em on because of looks, but when I finally did....they never came off. Then the detachable tour pack was next....but that did come off when the ol lady wasn't on the back.
Added them to my EGC and love them. Noi sure I would if I rode in the hot weather predominately. In my clime they are awesome. Keep my rain gear in them.
