Default Royal Purple 15W40?

Anyone use this oil? I can get it from work for about $70 a case (12qts). Im tired of getting raped for $60+ for an oil and filter with the harley syn 3. Im just not sure of this oil and wondering if anyone runs it and likes it?

I use it in my 2006 HEMI Charger, 1981 Z28 Camaro and soon my 1995 Wide Glide.

The 15W-40 you are talking about is for Diesel pick-ups. Could be used for a big-rig if your pockets are deep enough. Not really Harley oil. Go with 20W-50.

I've run 15W-40 in my VTX without any issues....not sure I'd use it for a air cooled bike that specs 50

Excellent oil but I wouldn't run anyone's 15w40 in a Harley. Works great in my turbo car, though. Can you get the 20w50 for that price? That's way below retail.

BTW, I wouldn't use any RP in the primary since it has about 250mg of moly in the formula. Great for the engine, questionable for the clutch disks (very slick).
