Default Will a 2003 Road King solo seat fit a 2006 SG?

If so, I found one I'm going to buy.

Thanks in advance,

It should, but you might have to buy a dash extension. I bought a seat for a Road King to put on my Road Glide and the seat was too short so I had to buy a dash extension to fill in the gap.

Most RK seats are interchangable with the SG. The SG has a long dash panel, so you wouldn't need the dash panel extension.

It should be ok, but sometimes you just don't know until you fit them up. Most 02-07 RK seats fit 06-07 street glides. However, I had a Mustang seat on my 07 RK that apparantly did not fit a 07 SG. Never did find out exactly what the fitment issue was, though.

Also Corbin is kind of fussy about what years their seats fit. I think they seperate out the 06-07 RKs from the 02-05, while most other seat manufacturers don't.

Bottom line, you might not know for sure until you put it on.

Which is the seat in question?

Shakey, if you're referring to the RK Standard solo, it will fit fine on your SG. You'll need a couple of nuts to secure it to the threaded studs in the rear fender.

It's not unusual for a reply with information to appear more than 44 mintes after the original post.

Thanks for the info Carl. But when something moves off the first page, it's usually buried. And this forum moves much faster than the others.

BTW, it is a stock Harley seat, so it sounds like it will work.

Default It should fit

I have a 2000 RKC and a 2006 SG (have to update my signature).

In the seat Department I have a Mustang Solo, 2 stock RKC seats, the SG stock seat and an Ultra seat. They are all interchangable, with a couple of things to note.

1. You will not need dash extension.
2. When mounted to the SG, my stock RKC seat hangs out a bit far and just touches the top of the bags. I was a bit surprised at what a great riding position it provides but I'm not sure whether it would rub the top of the bags in time. Also just a little incovenient opening the bags.
3. The front of the Ultra seat sits a little far up the tank and has just scratched a bit of the finish off - damn! Fitted a tank bra today (to cover up the little scratches and protect it in the future.
4. A couple of stainless acorn nuts are the business to mount the sinlge seat onto the tabs at the rear of the seat.

Last, but not least single seats look fantastic on SGs!!

Good luck!
