Hope it's not too dumb of a question......Anyone ever notice problems with their charging system when using the 100 watt high beam upgrade?

I purchased that PIAA bulb based on the reviews in these forums. The bulb lasted just over a year. I replaced it with a $25.00 bulb from Sylvania. When this bulb "pops", I'm replacing it with the TL LED. When the floods go, they also will be replaced with LEDs.

Ride safe and Merry Christmas,

Bob.

Absolutely the best mod I have done. First thing I usually do is buy one of the 80/100w lamps and swap out the stock. With the reflector in the new style headlight lens, it just wasn't as good an upgrade until I figured it out...it's the stupid reflector!

Swap the lens AND bulb out, it's not any more work, you have to pull both to swap the bulb out anyway, and the improvement is HUGE.

Yes and no. I put in the 80/100 Hella bulb, after a long period in town at idle I got the batt/CEL lights. Upon closer inspection I found out that my spots have 55 watt bulbs, so all together my lights are pulling 190 watts on low beam: put the headlamp on a seperate relay, recently put in a new battery, and it still does it occasionaly. Now if the light comes on I just switch off the spots until I get moving again and get the RPMs up.

Hey, the cheapo bulb might make a decent spare to carry around in case somebody needs one...

Default replacement bult for the passing lamps, 881

sylvania makes a replacement bulb, but its the same as the original bulb. I would like the whiter brighter light bulb to replace the 881's, but sylvania does'nt make one with the same clip attachment. I would like to replace the originals with a whiter light. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Default passing lamp clip attachment for new sylvania bulb

what can i do if the clip attachment is different than the new replacement silverstar bulb. the new siverstar clip attachment is at the bottom of the plastic instead of on the sides. Now i'm stumped. I need help with a replacement for the original ones.
