Default Owner's record

I've never left the fob behind but in my owners manual was a Smart security system and owner's record. It's a credit card sized record book that you write you vin and security code on. I just keep mine in my wallet with my insurance card. It also has complete instructions to start your bike using your security code. It also has instructions for transport mode.

2007 RKC
lots of goodies added

I did the same thing a few weeks ago except I was about 20 miles from home when I stopped for gas. Called my dealer on my cell phone and one of the service guys stepped me through the by-pass procedure – saved DW a trip!

NOT EXACTLY TRUE! Unless the dealer programed it that way. Check you owners manual, it will explain how to check your current code numbers if you do not know them. Follow the procedure, then either keep that code or install your own.
