Default Lost Another Friend Yesterday

A friends wife/HOG member/rider passed away last nite. The second fatality within our HOG chapter this summer. Both as a result of cars pulling in front of them-COMPLETELY avoidable. Yvette was on the back of Stephens bike and passed away due to head injuries. Stephen has injuries in his shoulder and collar bone but will be OK, considering. I've attached the early press release. Please join me with a prayer for Stephen and family.

St.-Phillippe woman dies from injures in motorcycle

Published on August 31st, 2010

CENTRAL BEDEQUE - A female passenger has died in a Moncton hospital while the male driver remains in Prince County Hospital with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries after their motorcycle was involved in a collision here Sunday evening.

As a result of the injuries sustained in this collision, 46-year-old Yvette Arsenault of St-Philippe, died in hospital Tuesday in Moncton.

East Prince RCMP are investigating the collision which occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. Sunday August 29, at the intersection of Route 1A and Route 171 in Central Bedeque.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Kent MacKay says the initial investigation indicates the driver of a black coloured 2003 Harley Davidson Heritage Soft Tail, who was traveling north on Route 1A, lost control of the motor cycle as a result of applying its brakes.

Police said the heavy braking occurred when a blue colored 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix made a left-hand turn from Route 1A onto Route 171 across the on-coming path of the motorcycle.

While the motorcycle and automobile did not collide, as a result of the loss of control, the motorcycle fell on its side and slid for a distance along the road surface.

Arsenault and the 51-year old driver of the Harley Davidson, also from St-Philippe, were transported from the scene by Island EMS to Prince County Hospital. Arsenault was subsequently transported to Moncton with very serious injuries said police.

The RCMP were assisted at the scene by Island EMS, the Kinkora Fire Department and an RCMP Technical Traffic Collision investigator.

The investigation into this collision continues and the RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision to please contact the East Prince Office at 436-9300.

Man I sure hate to hear this. We will be praying for ya'll and the family.

I want to ask a question and I mean no offense, but were they wearing helmets? The reason I ask is because I'm a paramedic and the head trauma had me wondering.

Yes, they were both wearing helmets (half helmets). They are law in all Canadian provinces.

Very sad to hear. Am I to assume that the car just continued and did not stop? I hope they are found and hung.
