My Garmin 660 Dash mount on Road Glide

glad the info helped...
now if only I had seen that thread for the rear aux-in mod for the stereo before I installed everything, I wouldnt have superglued a couple of wire holders to my inner fairing to route the audio patch cord and keep it from dangling from the 660 to the aux in on the front!

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to say I installed a Garmin 1450 on my 2013 Street Glide yesterday, using the idea from this thread. I've got about $70 in the whole setup. Now if it will just stop snowing...

I did the same with my RG last winter. After using it all summer I can report that i love it!
2 plexi discs cut with a 2" hole drill bit and painted gloss black. The ram ball is 2" with a treaded stud on the back that pulls the discs together (like the OP).
When Im not using my GPS ram mount I toss the Ram Xmount on the ball and it holds my phone.
Did a cross country trip this summer and it performed flawlessly.
One last thing I would recommend is the glare stomper. 100% improvement in the viewing of the GPS screen.
For power I drilled a small hole in the plexi disc and hard wired a cord. When it's not being used it pushes all the way back into the fairing with just the USB end sticking out (the hole is smaller than the usb tip). Everything is painted black now and it blends perfectly.... you have to look pretty hard to notice it.

As you can see in my sig pic, I have my GPS mounted in the middle of the fairing. The GPS is an old Street Pilot that has been replaced with a Zumo 550 now and the sat. radio has also been removed with two windshield pouches on either side of the GPS. I get my XM from the Zumo now. I really like your setup, very clean and easy to see. That's what this forum is all about, sharing ideas and building a better mouse trap.
