Not a small or exclusive club we all belong to. I have had 2 parking lot drops over time.

I try to never use my front brake at low speed. I also have the ride like a pro video and took the Harley skilled rider class this summer which help's remind us of slow speed maneuvering. both are highly recommended to all riders.

I can't begin to say how much the Ride like a pro has helped. I've dropped during practice and trying to make a u turn in a small spot and I did not look where I wanted the bike to go and low and behold down it went by touching that front brake.

So yes, I am part of that club as well. You are ok, which is the important part.

O have had to drops on a Road King. One was in Maui, too slow going up a very steep hill into a sharp curve. Scratched the muffler a little (rental place carged me nice for that one). The second time was on 385 between Hilly City and Deadwood. The little place on the side (forget the name) trying to get back out on the road...Too many things going on at once...gravel, blacktop lip, and traffic from both directions, trying to watch for traffic I hit that lip and the front wheel turned on my in the (pea sized) gravel. Hurt my pride but we got it back up and no damage done.

+1 on the Ride Like a Pro Video.

Engine/bag guards (crash bars) are a very good thing. If I did not use them I would feel like I wasted my money.

Count me in too.
Mine was a double-dweeb ......

Recently in my driveway, my helmet dropped off my mirror (where I had stupidly placed it) and yet even 'more stupidly' (while still straddling the bike) I bent down to pick it up, and the bike dropped between my legs ..... not unlike an elephant after being hit by a .700 nitro express.

Helmet got really scratched up (my 'perfect condition' Simpson Super Bandit from my sport-bike days) but only some minor scrapes on the underside of my RKC's crash bars.

I guess I'm getting too old, cuz I needed my wife to help me get the bike up righted even though I used the "put my huge butt into it" approach to get it on it's wheels again.

So there ....... my confession is complete, and I can now press on with total absolution ......... OK ...... in review .... maybe only 'partial' absolution.

Glad the OP didn't get hurt or damage the bike. I wonder how many pages of comments this will get?

I'm riding my first harley but, I"ve got one of those stories with a goldwing. Heading to the doctors office for a consult for a hernia surgery. Parked, put the kickstand down.... so I thought.

Started walking away and heard the bike hit the ground.... damn.... got a damned hernia, the lot is full of cars, and nobody around. I got the beast up and hobbled my injured *** into the doctors office. Parked the bike when I got home and it stayed in the garage till I was healed.

Ride safe guys, if you can live to tell a story then it's all good.

Just to let you guys know I think I got away with one. No one has come up to me talking about they saw me drop my bike. Also I actually have the Ride like a pro video. I guess I need to watch and practice some more. lol. Also glad to know this club isn't as exclusive as I thought. Ride safe all and keep the shiny side up.
