I had a 2006 Ultra Classic which has the older frame as well as a 88 cu in engine and 5 speed trans. So comparing it to the new 2011 Road Glide Ultra is huge with its newer frame, different size tires, bigger engine, 6 speed, etc.

My 2006 vibrated more for one thing. My RG Ultra rides much smoother and vibrates much less. The bigger engine gives me more power of course. I've got more range now with the 6 gallon tank. I also have ABS which I didn't have before. I do enjoy riding the new bike much more too.

One of the things I've noticed on Harley's web site, is the price of paint on the Ultra's vs the Road Glide Ultra's. Check it out...basic black isn't that much cheaper on the Road Glides Ultras.

That said, the one we rode at the demo rides was "Basic Black," but there was nothing basic about it. It was quite stunning with its own decal package.

But damn, that merlot sunglo....that is beautiful !! The new root beer on the Ultra's was equally as stunning.

Ozoneman, or others, any comments on the differences in handlebars? On the end of ride report we did, I told the Harley rep I thought the bars were too straight across--they made my wrists hurt after just 15 miles . I much preferred the bend of the Ultra's that we have.

Have you noticed a difference?

Also, how's the heat of those pipes? We test drove on a day that ultimately reached 95 degrees, but in the cooler morning after our 15 mile ride, my right boot was hot, as in HOT !

Very good looking bike, and the color is great when the sun hits it. Nice!

Check out Clearviewshields

I saw a number of Sharknose's with this shield while having a burger @ The Boars Nest (couple miles west of Lead), so I asked the guys out of curiousity.

They loved the shield and having the 5-position vent.
