The leather look great on the classic with the www tires and spokes.
If I had a classic I would leave the leather for the appearance. I dont think the functionality is all that much different.
I'm not a www tire and spoke guy so I ride a standard.

GRATS I got a 2000 RKC and my leather bags have locks on them. The Kit is about 175.00 I love my leather bags. here Is a pic of them. The Emblem lifts up to expose the lock.

 

I love my RKC. The bags are up to you; making it yours will make you happy. The newer bags are a little bigger than previous years and I've never had anything taken out or the bags on any of my bikes, leather or hard bags. It's not like they have case hardened locks on them anyway! Enjoy it.
