Default Cam w/ port and polish stock heads??

Hey guys, got an 09 roadking with SE 255s. I've heard a few different things so I figured I get some other peoples thoughts. I am wanting to get either S&S 106" BB or the SE 103". But before I did that I have heard that I can port and polish the stock heads on my 96" and would see a power jump without doing the BB. Anyone do this?

yes. i have a 09 SG and did a SE211 cam with all the head work, 2-1 fatcat, big sucker and what a difference. i am pleased but wish while i had the entire motor apart for diamond cut and paint i would have did a 107" on my jugs.

Yeah thats what I thought too. If I was going to have the motor apart anyway, why not do the 106" right

Why not just use your stock jugs to get re worked? it is cheaper, and you can send you heads and jugs to the same company.

It is certainly a given, with the heads done right you will see a good improvement in all around performance.Problem is you will always want more.

heres what im doing:
got se 103,flat cast pistons,se259e cam(w/per.fit pr),mcr pro heads all on ebay new ~1500$ my sert upgraded to tts.100$ labor 0$

I went up and down cause I kept wanting more and more, one thing kept leading to another, when do i stop? This looks like a nice formula to avoid going over the edge.

(This will be fun and easy to do over the winter. One thing Ive noticed in my bazillions of searches is that the posters and articles about something like this get bombarded with builders squashing the imformation to smitherines with there business and plugs to the point where the op says thanks and runs away from there questions with there tail between there legs.)

good luck!

I know. As soon as I put the cams in it was all down hill from there

The heads will help and add a set of .018 head gaskets with them that will bump your compression to about 10 and get the squish down to .030 or less.

origanally ordered all these parts getting into the thousands, then canceled my order.

next I just ordered 103 jugs, flat pist. and gaskets kit(stock type),mcr perfo. heads, cam.ok simple enough...

now i want to stop there, but no,thinking about going with cometic 0.03 gasket? (this would push the clearance spects with valves? and pr length) more work more $. searchin like crazy for info. touch up the intake ports hummm lol

Maybe someone can answer this for me.Over the winter i installed SE 103 cylinders cast flat top pistons cometic .030 gasket and had my stock heads done with 1.9 intake 1.58 exhaust and cc to 89 for a 10.0-1 compression.also running a andrews 50 cam with 510 lift.all four valves hit my pistons and i had to relief cut the pistons to gain clearance. Now im looking at the se259 cams and they are at 577 lift.how are these going to clear.maybe pistons with larger valve cut outs?
