I had a guy from Spencer Cycle in Belville NJ tell me the same thing...just to port the heads and basically no need to change jugs, pistons etc....although I could he said but the best bang for the buck would be just heads and re-dyno tune.

I'll probably go that route maybe this winter. I have to leave something to do in 2 years from now so why do it all at once....."Then what".

Sence the heads are off might as well bore the jugs & get the pistons! Make the most of these 255's! Then, in a couple years you can chage the cams again... maybe woods 6-6 or his new ones (??) or Andrews 54H!! You know you want to!
Just try'in to help you spend some of that hard earned cash!! LOL!!

Had mine bumped to 103 with everything you see in my sig. Jamie@Fuelmoto added tts to sert and dyno tuned. I like it! But glad I did it in one shot.

My plan is to just have a strong, efficient running 96". I have a set of 204 cams to be installed and I just bought a James .036 top end kit to bump up CR. When the heads are off I'll at least get them blasted clean and have the valves done and probably milled. It remains to be determined about any porting. Good thing I have 4 months to decide....

Im trying to figure this out aswell, before i start...did you have anything shaved off the jugs? Im sticking to stock gaskets and letting the deck height go for now(this winter).

I wish there was a chart of some of these combos? I really dont want to deal with the time and effort to set up engine with clay...ect

I might have figured this valve clearance issue out.The pistons i used were the cast flat top and have the small valve cut outs and the forged pistons have a larger cut out for the over sized valves.also on andrews web site it said with the 50 cams valve to piston clearance must be checked. So with the heads having larger valves and going to a .030 head gaskets i guess thats what happened. And TDC

I had my heads decked, and did the .030 head gasket. I love the power band where its at but the numbers arent what i would have expected. Cheap tune from the HD shop with a SEST. Didnt have anything else to turn to in my area of the world. One of these days I will get a real tune and hope she can get dialed in a little better.
