I Also have been looking for a new seat for my King which looks more like a ultra every day.

I was at the Local dealer and talk to a guy that had just made a 3500 mile trip over 7 days and of course he stated he had the best seat there is and it was custom built for him by Day long seats.

I look at his seat And I must say that it looked very very comfortable.

So, I went to the www.day-long.com web site, basically $710.00 to build you a seat on your seat pan. They also offer their own back rest system and there own heating system.

Well, by the time I priced everything out that I might have wanted the total would be 1161.40 And that was with solo heat only, I figured I could keep the wife warm.

If I were to spend that kind of money for a seat Harley better not ever change the frame again.

I've not read a bad review of the HD hammock seat, but have had no experience with one. I've had a Mustang on mine now for over 6 years and love it. The best part is that my wife can now do long rides without complaining about the seat.

The trouble with seats is you can't test any of them and my butt is probably a lot different than yours so any seat I like, you might not. Personally, I believe any high quality seat is better than the stock seat. I put a back rest on both my bikes and that REALLY makes riding much more comfortible. I have the stock seat on my Heritage and the HD aftermarket seat on my Road KIng.

I had my 09 seat reworked locally with gel and foam by Dan at Bitchn Stitchn. I just did a Saddle Sore 1000 mile ride in 21 hours. The seat was good for about 600 miles then I pulled out my airhawk. We were stopping every 2 hours to top off fuel and stretch the legs & my ridding buddy and I swapped the airhawk at each stop from there on out. Alternating made a huge difference. Both the seat and the Airhawk have some pressure points, but they are different pressure points. So after riding with the Airhawk for 120 miles or so, I could go back to the HD seat and feel totally comfortable again. This is a lesson that I will not soon forget and implement on road trips from now on.
