Default Stock HD headsets or are there better?

Hey All,

Well the new Ultra comes with (1) headset, you have to buy a 2nd for Mama. Before I just have them include one in the deal, are there better out there (especially for the music audio)? Thanks.

They suck for music. The only way you can tolerate them is turn the bass all the way down. J&M is supposed to be the best out there, and you'll pay for it too.

The one that came with my Ultra was OK... However one of the speakers went out and my dealership replaced it with the better BOOM headset. The difference is substantial. I have no complaints with volume or Bass with the newer style headset.

I went with IMC Motorcom headsets and they work very well and are reasonably priced.

+1, if you install the HD earspeakers correctly centered over your ear and spaced up tightly the sound is very good with both the 09 headset and even slightly more so with the 10 and newer BOOM set. I can't turn mine up over 3 bars, it's too loud! if you are not getting the same great results I am, I would say to look at the way YOU have installed them a little more closely

Never thought of that, but I could see where that could be the case. I have played with the headset I got with my 08, and they don't sound good at all. Seems like somebody told me they changed the headsets in 09 as well. It figures, I wait my whole life to buy a brand new HD, and I did it one year too soon. But I'm not unhappy enough to lose money on a trade.

Unless the HD headsets have improved, J&M headsets have better sound quality.

J&M elite series are great. A little pricey but great sound. They hold up well as I am on my second bike using the same set.
