2010 bikes overload now 2011 arrives
I drove through El Paso, Texas on Tuesday - stopped by Barnett's HD to look at the 2011's. walk into the HUGE store and found a LOT of Harley's on the foor - Turns out very few 2011's... All the rest were 2010's 2009's and used bikes.. If this is an example of the rest of the country - Harley has a over stock problem.
Your thoughts???
I will be honest - I was looking at Tourning models but the sales man did say they did not have many 2011's - I wanted to see the new White Denim - and they did not have one.

I have been to a handful of dealers in a couple different states since the 11's came out and it seems that most of the dealers only have a few 10's left and a scagly couple of 09's, but the ones that just nobody wants. Since HD cut production a while back, the new inventory has seemed to be adequate. The sales manager at the large dealer close to me was complaining because his sales goal for the month was bigger than his entire inventory level.

Hate to say it but here in the DC metro area they cannot seem to keep enough bies on the floor.
I watch and go to about 4 dealers in the area and they sell them as fast as they get them in. Dealership down the street has about half the bikes on the floor now sold. And they do not have that many anymore. The 2011's go as soon as they hit the floor. None have lasted more than one day. I stop by every other afternoon just to check on my way in from work. Some of them are not there one day then I stp in the next and have a sold sign on them the next day.
I watched one dealer go from like 5 pages of new bikes down to 2 on the net in less than 2 months.
No deals here.

I don't expect anyone to give away new bikes, I just thought since they have a few 09's on the floor and 11's in the box they may lower the price of the 09's a few bucks. However they want the same for them now as the day they came in. It is weird how everyone talks of the bad economy, but they are still selling the heck out of bikes. Guess folks want to hang on to their dreams. Can't give up taht therapy
