In my area, when the new models come out, they offer 3 years of maintainance for free on the previous year. They don't ever come down from the MSRP.

You can do better on the $$$ than that. But hey, it's your bike / your money - darn emotions!

Thumbs down Shop around

My understanding is that allocation of 2011 bikes are contigent on 2010 sales numbers. Also 2011 bike production are going to be down, this has led to aggressive marketing of 2010 models. My dealer is discounting 2010 bikes over $2000.00,no set-up or freight.Keep looking there are a lot of new 2010 bikes around.

I must be in the wrong place at the wrong time, I have never got a cash discount on a H-D! I think if you like it and it's the right color with the options you want, whats $500.

I am being told that around here, most are paying 22k out the door minus tax for an ultra on average. I payed 20k. I am happy with the price I payed BUT I wouldn't put my nose up at a deal like this one. Let's face it-you are gonna spend the money anyway.

I just bought a new 2011 Ultra limited in the washington DC area. I traded in my 2008 Road KIng Classic with 14K miles for $13,500 and paid $24,700 before dealer prep, tax title and tags. They do not move much on the price here in DC. don;t know if this is a good deal in other parts of the country but it was not bad for DC. A buddy of mine traded in a 2010 RKC with 6K miles for a 2011 Ultra LImited and got $14,750 for his trade and same price on the bike. I guess if we wanted to save money and ride a motorcycle we would by a Honda

I've been fortunate in that my local dealer has ALWAYS come down from MSRP. I think you can get a better deal than the one being offered, but at the end of the day, it's still a good deal if YOU are happy.

We just bought a 2010 RGC this weekend. We did a LOT of shopping around from Virgina\WV to Florida and i can say that the majority of the dealers we dealt with did not want to move away from MSRP (or above MSRP) and gave low average trade. The majority of them are already above MSRP on 2010 and expect stupidity from their possible customers. The ones that they would move on MSRP were on bone stock ones (no abs, cruise, security, etc). The big thing is you feel comfortable with the trade and purchase. I will say though... the longer you sit the more possibility of finding that dealer as long as you are willing to travel. You are just running into the possibility of the bike you may really really want getting gone. We did ultimately end up finding that one dealer that obviously needed an end of the month sale that gave me almost 2k below MSRP OTD (Tax and and all other fees) and a good trade on one of my bikes.
