Default I need a BIG tank!

I'm riding a '07 Ultra Classic with the 5.5 tank.
All my riding buds have the newer tourers with the 6.5 tank, I gotta stop before then fer fuel.
Now, I installed my Fuel Moto dyno tuner to help keep the heat problems down.
It works great, more power, cooler temps but...............
I've dropped 'bout 5 mpg.
So I was short before now, 125-135 is all I get from a tank.
So.....
Will a 6.5 gallon tank from a '08 and up fit on my '07 (I don't wanna buy a new pump, etc. just swap all the "stuff" into that tank, or.....
Is there a HUGE aftermarket tank I can drop on????
Tanks
Joe
If I din't spend $$ on my Harley, what would I spend it opn?

The new tank is 6 gallon (and yours I believe is 5) it won't fit without other mods (seat for sure).
I am not aware of any larger tanks that would just "drop in" but it is possible to have tank custom made or modified.

Back in the day I had a friend that made a fuel tank to hang on the back of his bike, he ran a line up and plumbed it in with a petcock. Said it was so he didn't have to stop every 100 miles for fuel. Funny thing is, I don't think he ever rode more than 20 miles without stopping for beer.

You must be young!

My bladder will not allow me to ride a 5 gallon tank to empty!

If you switch to kilometers, you can go further on a tank of gas.

I get about the same mileage as you, but I'm ready to stop by then anyway. I don't need a bigger tank, but good luck to you in your search.

Oh yeah, you might call FM and see if they can send you another map for better mileage.

If you are only getting 25 MPG, something is wrong with your bike or you ride at 100 MPH all the time.

You should get AT LEAST 40 MPG or more. Do not trust your fuel gauge, ride it until you need to go onto reserve and/or carry a gallon extra fuel in your tour pack until you have figured how many miles you get on tank.

Divide miles covered by gallons to get yout MPG. If you are at 25 MPG - something is not right. You have a fuel leak or something.

When I ride with the old folks at 65 MPH I can get up to 53 MPG on my Ultra, two up, loaded. (It is an EVO though with a carb !)
