Default Evening Ride / iPhone 4 Mount / GPS

After doing some work on my car last night, I took the bike out for a ride. Was an awesome evening to ride in southern Chester County, PA last night.

Anyway, I just mounted an iphone 4 mount from Ram Mount. I used a 1.75" arm on the mount rather than the standard 3" mount. Looks much better I think. For power, I installed a power plug inside the fairing and then ran a griffin iphone power adapter from the plug to the iPhone and ziptied the wire down. Then an audio cable runs rom the base of the power adapter to the AUX on the HK. Very clean install and only 1 wire to plug into the iPhone when I mount it. The Ram mount covers the fuel gauge a little bit, but I can easily look around it and I use my mileage more than the gauge anyway.

For GPS, I purchased the NAVIGON GPS application for the iPhone. Gave it my first run last night and it works great. Play music with the iPhone and get full nav with turn by turn directions. Very happy with it all.

I'll post some pics when I get a chance to take them.

Thumbs up

Sub'd.. I'm also curious to see if anyone has used their iPhone 4 with an XM Sky Dock, and mounted it to their bike. If the multitasking works right, that + the Navigon may be a decent set up..

I don't know if the NAVIGON GPS is the same app my buddy has or not, but he used his iPhone (the newest iPhone ,32 GB or 64 GB, I don't remember) over the weekend. he said his GPS app does not recalculate the route if he makes a wrong turn. Does yours recalculate. Sometimes, I am prone to missing a turn when there's 2 right next to one another.

Ride safe,

Bob.

I have found the MapQuest app is the best free app that I have found and it does recalculate.
