why only one year on the 2 into 1
Just wondered if anyone had a logical reasoning why the MOCO went from 2 into 1 on the 10's and then right back to the 2 into 1 into 2 for the 11's. Im glad they did but just wondered? woulda saved me from having to by a full exhaust opposed to just slips ons

Except you would have still been stuck with the CAT in the head pipe or having to have it removed....

Most of the potential buyers didn't like the looks of the 2-1 setup and wanted the dual mufflers. The truth is that a 2-1 setup will out perform the traditional 2-1-2, so the unknowing buyers just got the "look" back coupled with less performance! I always thought of the streetglide as the hotrod of the touring class chasis and think the MOCO was trying to bring about enhanced performance to that platform with their change.

CAT generates severe bluing for any chromed SE Nightstick, toasts riders right calf at stoplights, and renders headpipes un-tunable to offer full advantage of 2/1 design - better torque.
Note too that they now DO offer a black Nightstick, retrofit black heat shields, and bargain basement price on stand-alone OEM CAT equipped 2 into 1 headpipes. Note too that FuelMoto's new 2 into 1 headpipe replacement is WAY back-ordered.

Definitely a very dumb move by the MOCO on 2-1 !. I wouldn't buy a touring model with 2-1 pipe. Looks real odd and unbalanced. Some say 2-1 gives out better performance rather than 2-1-2, but someone mentioned in the previous post...ghost pipe is a real good idea !.
Extremely glad 2-1-2 had returned it's retaining looks.
