why only one year on the 2 into 1
#101
My .02, when shopping for a SG last year (2010 model year) I was shocked to see the 2-1. I have seen many dyno charts over the years(a lot of years) and generally see 2-1 outperform 2-1-2, 2-2, but not ALWAYS.
Now....that being said......when I asked the sales guy why the MOCO did it, he gave me the quick company line of...."because it performs better". So I asked......if that was the case than why do they put a 2-1-2 on their SE CVO bikes which they claim are their "performance" bikes? He looked at me and said......that's a good point and I don't have an answer. He backed himself right into a corner and we laughed about it.
I have owned several Harleys over the years and when i was younger I thought i could make a Harley "fast". Now I realize that's just silly......they weren't designed for speed or performance.....they look great, sound great, and most importantly when you ride it you have a nice sense of USA pride and it feels great for an almost unexplainable reason. At least that's what I feel.
My 2011 SG just arrived yesterday.....if there wasn't the cat issue I would have just done mufflers.....since there is that issue I have to spend more $$$$. So weather i got a 10 or 2011, in my mind it still costs me the same coin. But I did get a 103!
I'm new here, been outa the loop for a few years, glad to be back on a bike and have enjoyed lurking on this site for the past few years while doing my research.
Thanks!
Hmmmmmmm......V&H or Rinehart...........

Looking at the header pipe's, the 2 into 1 and 2 into 2 looks very simular. I was told you can't cap off the crossover pipe at the header that goes to the left side and install a powertube muffler. Why not? has anybody tried it. Another question is how does the 02 sensors work with the cat removed. I see they are side by side right before the cat. someone mentioned cross talking???

What mufflers are you running with your VH header?

2-2. Just like when new bikes come out. Some guys think they know what's up. You don't know what or why until they want you to know and if they want you to know. Everyone has an opinion is all and you know what they say about opinions.
